Returning for 2018 will be the Junior Long Course Weekend! Taking place alongside the full Long Course Weekend, children aged 14-17 years old will take part in a 1.2 mile swim, 42 mile cycle and 10k run.
It is crucial that those entering are competent at all three disciplines, as there will be open sea waters for the swim which may have currents to contend with, and open roads during the cycle stage.
Entrants must be aged 14 – 17 over the three days. Please note – photographic identification will be required at registration. Athletes without this may not be registered by the start time of the event.

The course is a 1.2 mile swim, followed by a 45 mile bike ride, finishing with a 10km run.
Each individual event will take part on a separate day of the weekend. There is no winner for this event, it is purely about achieving the fourth medal, however times will be given for each stage of the weekend.
On the Friday entrants will take part in the 1.2 mile short course swim on North Beach, Tenby. The route is one lap of the course. The event will be organised to start as close to high tide as possible, depending on visibility. This part of the weekend has a 2 hour cut off, with athletes failing to complete the course within this limit getting a DNF and their chance to earn the fourth Junior Long Course Weekend medal over.
Saturday is the chance for those taking part to take things a little easier, with a 45 mile sportive taking you through some of the most picturesque areas of South Pembrokeshire. Feed and water stations will be placed along the route to give you the extra boost for tackling the steep climbs. Again, athletes failing to finish the route will class as a DNF.
Please note this is an open road event, so cyclists will need to be wary of traffic along the course and abide by the highway code.
The final day of the weekend, Sunday, sees the contestants take on the Wales 10k from Manorbier to Tenby. This event is a closed road route, so there will not be any worries about traffic for runners. Feed and water stations are situated roughly every 5 miles on the course. The cut off time for this event is 2 hours 30 minutes, so anyone still with a chance of being a Junior Long Course Weekend finisher needs to finish before 4pm.
